It's the new year!
This day marks the beginning of the new and leaving behind of the old.
It's time to let the old go, so you can embrace the new!
For behold! The old has past and the new has come!
New year.
New vision.
New plan.
New start.
New action.
New style.
New speech.
New heart.
New hope.
New life.
Wish all a great 2009!

Vision
Ever thought of how to push on when all hell breaks loose, and everything seems to go bad and rot?
Without vision, people perish, because they have nothing to look forward to, they stagnate, they refuse to move with no hope for the future. They eventually perish as they have given up to live.
But God has a vision. A vision for every individual.
Your vision is what holds you when others crumble
Your vision is what burns you on instead of burning of you out.
There is something to work for, something to hope for. Something good ahead to stretch forth and receive.
So this is the time to sing and the time for joy for the time to sulk and mourn has past. Speak and see; and know that your future is good.
This is the time to receive!
Move into that vision!

Asia Conference 2008
Touching Asia, Transforming The World
Put together by City Harvest Church, the 1st inaugural Asia Conference took place in Singapore Expo Hall 8 through 19th - 23rd November 2008.
What a glorious time! Multitutes of different denominations and even those from beyond Asia came together and put their differences aside, worshipping the Lord together. A time of empowerment and liberation.
Reconciliation came!
Restoration came!
Impartation came!
Walls were broken!
Strongholds were torn down!
Mindsets were changed!
Hearts were healed!
People were made whole!
Multitudes have been set free!
Knowledge! Understanding! Visions! Dreams! Boldness! Wisdom! Creativity! Relevance! Strategies! Faith!
Old friends met here. New friends are made here.
A grand family reunion!
We are blessed to be that the nations will be blessed!
We are empowered to empower the nations!
And I believe this is just the very begining!
Heaven mindedness is not escapism!
The contemporary church relates to the world as it is.
God never called us to isolate ourselves, hide in the church and just pray in fear and judgment. In fact He called us to preserve and shine as the salt of the earth and light of the world. He called us to engage society as sheep among wolves. Wise like serpents and harmless as doves.
We are separated but let's not become isolated!
Let's not be intimidated. God has given not a spirit of fear, but of love, boldness and of a sound mind.
We should in fact, engage in insulation (by our spiritual disciplines) for penetration!
God allows us to go through difficult times to show us something wonderful.
You must let go of yourself for a moment of God.
You've got to know who you are and what to do by revelation.
By revelation, Peter, a fisherman, knew who Jesus was n Jesus gave him the revelation of who he is and what he is supposed to do. Peter, on the day of pentecost became the one who preached the good news and 3000 were saved! He went on to be one of the apostles who shook the world upside down.
We, the church and individuals, can never grow without interfacing with culture. As we go to every realm of society and start serving the the broken and the needy, the light of the Lord will shine through us. It is the light that draws people.
We are here to effect resurrection life into all realms!
So what is you tongue speaking?
Does it bring strife and judgment?
Or does it bring love and hope?
Remember, relationship precedes ministry. Learn to respect. Let's not despise the young looking upon our experience and wisdom while they dont carry as much. And let's not judge the older and matured for the lack of joy, drive and excitement that we carry. But instead let us reconcile the generations and form incredible force with visions, drive, hope, energy, experience, knowlege, understanding, wisdom and balance!
We've got to approach culture with strategy. Every culture has its unique beliefs, customs, languages, literature and institution. Having knowledge and understanding of them gives you the wisdom to engage.
You can never posses your future by holding on to your past. Forgive everyone of evrything they have done to you. Let it go, open your hands and receive your future. God is going to lift up you life! Giving you the best life! That's resurrection! The step is required, the time is now!
We are sent into culture, not out of it.
We are never saved for ourselves but always for somebody else. Remember that God told Abraham that through him, the families of the nations will be blessed. When Zachaeus was touched by Jesus, not only did he return all he has all he has taken by falsehood, he restored it fourfold. Corruption was dealt with. He gave half of his possession to the poor! Poverty was eradicated! The whole economic and financial outlook of the place took a change from corruption and poverty to righteous and hope. People became enabled with finances! The poor has food on the table! The land has changed. Not to forget that Zachaeus is a man of influence! He was the chief tax collector! He had the position to bring change to the whole tax system in the land! When a person is transformed, the whole place is transformed!
We are there to engage, led by the Spirit, to be involved, to re-create, impact and lead change, bring light; carry transformation having holiness in our roots and creativity in our minds. That fruitfulness will be in our hands. By the power of God, the excellence and impact we have will create ripples, our immediate influences will be shaken. families will be saved, companies will serve and excel, social orders will be changed. Nations will improve!
We are blessed to be a blessing, forgiven so that we can forgive. Empowered to empower. Fed to feed.
Christian life is life in the Spirit.
We are not given a program, we are given a life! A life in the Spirit in the situation that we are in! Then, like leaven in bread, you and I will be agents for God's providential intervention and cause the community around us to 'rise'!
Let's continue to love God wholeheartedly and love people fervently. Being the salt and light to engage and penetrate every social order.
The message is sacred, the methods are not.
The message is you.
There is an everlasting love that has been there forever and will be there forever!
All are invited!

Virtue
Public virtue does not create private virtue, but private virtue creates public virtue. - Charles 'Chuck' Colson
Character
Character is moral strength to stay true under the fire of temptation.
Character is patient endurance when life is going badly.
Character is honesty at the price of punishment.
Character is reliability that calls for predictable behaviour.
Character is integrity in secret.
Character keeps promises even when that disadvantages you.
Character remains faithful to the people you've made commitments to when it's not convenient.
Character stands firm on certain values even though it is popular to discard them.
Character lives by conviction rather than preference.
Character is the foundation of our lives -- bad character, bad life; good character...

Articulation
The best communication is simple and brings all information across.
Received as presented!
Did you add in your own conclusion to what another has told you?
Is what you present exactly what you intended to present?
Did the listener get what you were saying?
Is the vision clear? That he who sees it can run with it?
If he can't see, how then can he run?

Impact II
Plan -> Start Where You Are -> Pain (You Will Start To See What Your Strengths And Weakness Are And What Within You Need To Change) -> Overcome -> Impact
Either you lead change or change will lead you!
Ever thrown a pebble into a pond?
Ripples start with an impact.
No impact = no ripple

Impact
What’s your dream?
What’s the 1 thing that mesmerized your heart n mind?
What’s that thing that kidnapped all your attention?
Go! Unleash all your positive energy, your talents, your potential and your gifts on that thing you know you want to achieve.
You may have gone through a difficult time; no one says it’s a bed of roses.
Set that smoking flax ablaze and go!
Work for it
Achieve your dreams
You can bring change
You can carry impact.
You can leave a legacy.

D-Day
6th June 1944 marks the first operations of the Allied invasion of Normandy, bringing the whole World War II into a whole different climax. Also known as Operation Neptune and Operation Overlord, the assault was conducted in two phases: an air assault landing of American and British airborne divisions and an amphibious landing of Allied infantry and armored divisions on the coast of France, a surprise attack on the Nazi army. The operation was the largest single-day invasion of all time, with over 130,000 troops landed on June 6, 1944. 195,700 Allied naval and merchant navy personnel were involved.
Thousands upon thousands gave their life for the sovereignty and freedom of their own homeland. A battle where life and death is on the line.
For every great man and woman history has to offer, each will have his or her own D-Day(s) to conquer.
Here are the 4 D-Days we all will face, while on the way to being the great man or woman God has intended for us to be.
1. Disillusion
One day you will just find that the hero in your heart has fallen. The figure that you so looked up to, is not really what you think he is. The person you aspire to be, the one you loyally and faithfully served, suddenly stinks like no other and may even turn and come after your very life. The beauty of the image is shattered.
Many turn cynical and become as foul as the person they used to aspire to be.
But we have a choice; the decision to reaction is ours and ours alone.
Never allow disillusion to turn into cynicism.
Let God help you to develop a gracious spirit.
Be merciful and not cynical.
2. Discouragement
The day when you fail (let’s face it, not everything you attempt to do will be successful)
Great people’s success is usually built on around 5% of what they do
You need faith when you are discouraged.
And you got to get up again.
3. Depression
There may be days that you think it’s easier to die than to live for Christ.
To live for Him when you are in the time of depression
Depression is like a black pit with slippery side. And down there is the devil.
God is watching us, when we are in the pit at a snowy day n the devil is in the middle of it all. That’s the time when you really got to have faith.
Pull out the Word of God!
Greater is He who is in me than whatever is around me.
“I AM GOING TO GET THROUGH THIS!
I MAY BE GOING THROUGH A TRIAL, BUT I AM GOING TO A TRIUMPH. I AM GOINIG TO BEAT THE DEVIL!”
4. Death
Most dreams die; they don’t die, they won’t live.
Every vision has a day of death
Every seed has to die if not a plant won’t live.
You got to see Jesus in the death of your dream.
God waits until that dream is so totally dead, and the only resurrection that brings it up is Him.
That dream will raise again.
Rulership comes out from the death of a dream.
THERE IS A GOD IN HEAVEN, HE STARTED THE GOOD WORK IN YOU. HE WILL BRING YOU TO THE OTHER SIDE! HE IS COMMITTED TO BRING YOU TO THE OTHER SIDE! HE WILL COMPLETE THE GREAT WORK IN YOU
Vision always tarries.
Don’t get ahead of God.
There is an appointed day for fulfillment.
It takes a man of God to draw people back to Jesus. The door is Jesus
Peter’s success in the day of Pentecost was born out of the most terrible day of his life, the day he denied Jesus.
It doesn’t really matter the terrible times you have had, or the hour in your life. You are going to make it in your life.
It’s defeating that lion in the snowy pit, waking up yourself instead of waking Jesus in the storm, having faith when you don’t want to, having a great attitude when you don’t want to. Those are the things that bring out the leader in you.
It’s the day you defeat the devil in that snowy pit.
Strength when every enemy of God is coming against you.
Winning the battle when you are in the middle of it, is what God is looking for
You want people who has won at least a big battle. And you will be in the trenches with him. You don’t want one who can’t beat the devil.

Gifts
Gifts, gifts, gifts.
Birthday gifts, xmas gifts, valentine's day gift, 21st birthday gifts.
I think I can be sure that we have all received gifts in our lives.
Everytime we receive a gift or two, I trust that we stretch forth our hands in gratitute to receive that which was given.
There is work to do in order to position yourself to receive.
Stretch forth and receive!

Giants
Well, talkiing about giants, no no it's not some football team I am talking about.
Aniway when giants are mentioned, there seem to be a lot of pictorial illustrations that come to our minds. For some, giants have only one eye. For some, giants carry a club to beat down human for food.
Whatever they look like in your mind, the common thing is that the giants always delay your progress, trying to withhold you from moving forward; slowing you down. If you allow yourself to be crippled by your giant, death follows.
Here we are, 3 facts about giants
1. The size of your giants tells me yours.
Giants you will find in RPG games are always relative to your gaming level and progress of the game. The higher your level, the more difficult the giant. Just like life itself. If you are an easily irritable person, your giant can come in the form of a small little fly, flying and buzzing around you that you loose your cool. A fly... what a big giant.
small giants = small dreams
BIG GIANTS = BIG DREAMS
2. Your giant reveals your weaknesses.
Giants that manage to hinder people's lives are very often their fears on the issues they hold close to their hearts. It may be the concern on finances and poverty. It may be the concern of looking for the exact mr or ms right. It may even be the colleague who is always moving ahead of you in all the things you want to perform for your company's growth.
Whatever you fear, will cripple you!
3. You can slay that giant!
The famous bible story of David and Goliath tells it all. A 9-feet tall champion of war named Goliath, came out of the Philistine camp. Wearing bronze armor and bronze helmet, with a bronze javelin slung over his back. the taunting giant stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel with words of challenge and mockery. For 40 days he did the same thing and the whole of the Israeli ranks shook in fear.
And finally one day, when young David as running an errand for his father, to bring food for his brothers and the army. Just as he was greeting his brothers, Goliath the giant was performing his usual defiance. After he was told of the rewards that will be given to th ehero who will slay that giant, David went to the king and offered his service to challenge the giant in war.
With his staff in hand (as David was a shepherd boy) David took 5 stones and a slingshot and went against teh giant in the name of God Almighty. As Goliath moved to attack him, David reahed for a stone in his bag and slung it at the head of the giant, bringing him face down to the ground. And with the giant's own sword, David killed Goliath, cutting off his head. And David was rewarded with every reward that has been promised to him, which includes the hand of the king's daughter in marriage.
Slaying that giant brings you to your destiny.
David became a mighty warrior fighting alongside the king. After overcoming difficulties upon difficulties, David eventually became king of the nation.
Giants are obstacles. No doubts.
But they are not the end.
The only reason why they are obstacles will only mean you can overcome them.

Guitar
Quote:
'It is amazing how much you can accomplish when it doesn't matter who gets the credit.'
- unknown
I have a guitar. An acoustic one. Lovely beautiful guitar; a birthday gift, sacrificially given to me a few years ago, by a group of young and vibrant students at a time when finances was much in need and very precious in their own lives.
Just like any other guitar, mine has 6 strings, each having a different characteristic, properties n even material and tension. Each gives a different sound or note, if you prefer, when you pluck or strum it.
Only one thing in common:
When properly tuned, they all vibrate in the same frequency.
In unison they vibrate together and give beautiful sounds when different chords are played.
How great a thing can be achieved, when a team (of individuals) is in agreement and working together as one...

Reproduction
Whatever we are is what we reproduce.
None of us is without influence.
Our lives is a message to others.
Our attitude is contagious.
Good trees bear good fruits.

Authenticity

Cloud Strife
His hair remains in perfect shape in the rain, while fighting and even immediately after he removed his helmet (You can catch that in Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core)
Reminds me of a commanding officer of mine during my naval days.
His hair never got messy no matter how strong the gale may be.
This really tells me of authenticity.
The inner most core of the person needs to remain authentic and consistent no matter what the surrounding is.
The genuine being that is within that body of yours and mine.
Authenticity + Consistency = Integrity

Gratitude
This is my 1st blog in all my life thus far.
I've always wondered why people blogged and never really understood. In fact, even right now, I still have no minute idea why people like to blog. Especially with all their complaints and twisted ideals of many.
Sidetrack: For those who are wondering, I won't be 'distributing' any media files here. So you might as well drop the idea.
As I am typing this, I have nothing but gratitude to express.
Though I am not living a life of perfection (let me know if any of you lives a perfect life. Your perception of perfection has already has gone into deception), with the ups and the downs in life. I thank God that the years of my life have been a road of seeking and understanding.
Seeking has brought me to learn and to understand.
Events of the last 5 years. It's really life anew.
There are still things I can do, there are still things I have not learnt.
But I am thankful, that I can still learn.
There's so much more to do, so much more to explore, so much more to experience.
Your truth sets me free.
